Dry rot refers to a fungus that destroys the wood and found in many parts of the world. Dry rot affects the forest timbers. However, they are best known for their ability of destroying timbers in buildings and ships. The reason for this is that the dry rot can travel through other building materials also other than timber, causing outburst to quickly spread through the building.
